23 September 1932: Saudi National Day: the Kingdom is unified

On 23 September 1932, King Abdulaziz Al Saud proclaimed the unification of his lands as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Saudis celebrate the date every year as National Day, with green flags, fireworks and festivities across the Kingdom.
